REBECCA LYTLE
Serving all Children
thank you, community!
A most sincere thank you to Sausalito and Marin City voters who supported my campaign. I am humbled and amazed by the kindness of community. I want to thank all those who donated, provided endorsements, hosted “meet and greets”, rallied, and shared our campaign with others. Finally, a huge thank you to our campaign team!! I can’t thank them enough for their tireless dedication and hard work.
As a new SMCSD board member I welcome your thoughts and ideas. I am committed to moving the district in a positive and forward direction.brand.
I am committed to advocating for a learning environment where every child can reach their full potential and succeed. Sausalito and Marin City, I ask for your vote and support for kids.
I have spent my career promoting equal access for students of ALL abilities and backgrounds. I feel that for students to learn they must be able to relax into their learning environment and feel safe and supported socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually.
As a board member candidate I welcome all ideas from families, teachers and staff about school goals, issues and desires. I see the school board role as being dedicated to ensuring every child has the opportunity to succeed.

hi, I’m rebecca. nice to meet you!
I am a local resident of the Sausalito Houseboat community, and a recently retired professor with 30+ years in education. My passion is advocacy for children of all backgrounds and abilities. My experience has expanded from teaching in public schools in rural Northern California to becoming faculty and training teachers at Chico State University. I have also managed federally funded grants and served as a Department Chair and Dean. These experiences give me a diverse perspective as a teacher, administrator, and parent (and now grandparent). I founded several programs for individuals with disabilities based on community need, including the Chico State Autism Clinic and have worked with a variety of disabilities from early intervention to adults. I have a strong commitment to community service. I love spending time with my family and new grandson, whom I hope attends Dr. MLK Jr. Academy someday!
I look forward to the potential of serving as a School Board team member to work collaboratively to serve all children in the Sausalito Marin City School District.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Academy is in an exciting transition, with the merging of the elementary and middle school as well as the construction of a new facility. With any change comes great opportunities as well as challenges. Let’s work together towards an equity based education model that serves every student’s needs. Please join me, I am excited to meet you and hear about your ideas. I am truly grateful for your support!
