CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

portrait of Rebecca Lytle

I have spent 30+ years in education.  My PhD is in Human Performance with a minor in Education. My primary focus areas have been adapted physical education, inclusion, teacher training, and collaborative practices with families and across disciplines.  I have been blessed to start many programs for individuals with disabilities based on community need. Most significantly, the Chico State Autism Clinic which has provided autism diagnostic services, sensory motor evaluations, programming, social skills training, and summer theater, art, music, and movement camps.

I believe all children benefit from a rich learning environment that uses multiple modalities for learning and academic excellence that includes the creative arts such as theater, physical education, music, art, and dance.

I have had the opportunity to share at state, national, and international conferences, and have worked internationally in both India and the United Arab Emirates.  I have published books and peer-reviewed articles related to adapted physical education and special education. My experience with federal special education grants has given me the knowledge and resources for serving children with varying behavioral and academic needs.

PERSONAL LIFE

A family photograph of Rebecca Lytle and her family. Daughter, Son with wife and grandchild.

As a youth in Marin, I enjoyed playing Bobby Sox Softball, riding my bike, sailing the Greenbrae canal, and climbing Mt. Tam.  Currently I love spending time with my family and new grandson, playing pickleball and being on the water, boating, kayaking or paddleboarding.

FUN FACT

I was a seasonal UPS driver for the Sausalito Marinship in the early 1980’s.
